James Pratt recounts twelve lessons that his father, Grant Pratt, taught him while he was growing up. This book and the little gems of inspiration offer guidance into how we can all lead fulfilling, happy lives. This nonfiction novel shows the impact that one person can have on another individual and a community. There is also a strong implication that if the reader imitates and implements these values that they will have just as strong an influence on those around them. It is a quick read, and in my opinion, very accurate to reality.

I really enjoyed this book. It certainly wasn't a thrilling, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat type of book but it was full of good messages. It also has a tender ending that brought me to tears. This was a very uplifting book and made me want to be a better person.

I wish I could remember which one of my kids gave me this book. Thanks!

We got this the other day at the fair when we bought an awesome CDRom about understanding the Constitution and the founding fathers. Jeromy just finished this book and highly recommends it.

Very interesting history of "the greatest generation," of descendants of Parley P. Pratt, and of an exemplary family.

This reminded me of my dad and the great values he was raised with that are still important, but so lacking in today's world.
