Reviewed at Romance Is AgelessThe Maverick Meets His Match is a romance that is going to take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. You’ll be frustrated, annoyed, amused, enraged, comforted and eventually fall in love most satisfactorily. In many ways it’s not an easy romance. Perhaps closer to real life than we’d like to admit in our chosen romantic reads. Life happens, people are jerks, there isn’t only one way to accomplish a goal… and these are all things that we learn as we grow. For Mandy and Ty they have to learn these lessons, get over their own personal past and try to find a middle ground. It’s not going to be easy or comfortable. All because of one beloved grandfather’s frustrating will, a will that is far more than it first appears to be.Mandy had worked alongside her grandfather for years now, learning the business and taking over parts of it as she learned. Sure she made mistakes, but she learned from them and never repeated them. Now she’s learned that instead of heading up the family rodeo supplier company as she expected, a former romantic interest, a man who’d once received help from the scholarship her grandfather had established was here to make life changing decisions about her company. To sell or to keep. It was all in Ty’s hands now… and Mandy was beyond furious.Ty knew numbers not people. He understood profit and loss not emotions, or so he told himself. With his own family’s background it was best to not let emotions get in the way of business. He’d made a promise to Mandy’s grandfather, his mentor, to look out for the best financial interests of his surviving family… and he’d do just that no matter how much they, or in fact, Mandy despised him for it. He underestimated the effect that Mandy still had on him after ten years apart. He was blind to the true lesson that J M Prescott was actually trying to teach both Ty and Mandy until it was almost too late.I enjoyed The Maverick Meets His Match on many levels, and was frustrated by it in many ways. At times, Mandy’s reactions were over the top, and Ty’s determination to scratch a ten year old itch with no thought to the future were often annoying to me at times. Oh, don’t misunderstand… I enjoyed this couple’s journey, but much like real life not everything moved smoothly. And after a bit Mandy’s instinctive tendency to not trust anything that Ty did or said had me skimming some of their arguments, I’ll admit to that. I understand that there had to be some animosity between them in spite of their growing affections, but at times it was a bit too much… for me.I enjoyed running into Libby and Chance once again, and also I’m looking forward to Cat’s story up next. In all, I enjoyed this story and was satisfied with how it wrapped up. I suspect we’ll see Ty and Mandy again in this series so I’m curious how they are doing a bit in the future. I’d recommend this story, just know that you’ll be facing a lot of your own emotions along the way.I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Other than the title, I thought this book was great. Mandy's grandfather has been training her to run a rodeo supply business. When he dies instead of leaving the business to her, he leaves a man in charge who broke her heart years ago. He's the "maverick" however he didn't fit my idea of a traditional cowboy maverick which is why I don't like the title. Ty is supposed to evaluate the business and determine if it's successful enough to provide for Mandy's family for years or if it would be better to sell it. He has up to two years to do this unless Mandy marries him. If she does he only has six months. The story is about both of them figuring out how to best secure their family's future. Does that mean money or relationships?I liked the character development and other characters in the story and liked the way things were resolved. Can you fall in love when you're at odds over the future? And, if you do, what can be done to secure your future? I cared about Ty and Mandy and was rooting for them to figure things out.

Love!I read this one first (you might notice it is book 2), and was relieved it isn't necessary to bread in order, although characters in book 1 are referenced and in this story it didn't ruin anything. The sex scenes were great, and very well written. The whole story was super cute and other than some of the rodeo parts were over my head, I enjoyed learning what I did about by the terms and behind the scenes of it all. Looking forward to reading more by this author!

Although not unique, I liked how the grandfather planned to get Mandy and Ty together and teach them was "success" should mean to the both of them. What I didn't like is that so much of the beginning of the book kept talking about how Mandy's grandfather could leave the will that he did, and that Ty was constantly trying to get Mandy in his bed. Romance or not, I would have liked a little more between them than that. But, hard-core romance lovers will enjoy it nonetheless.

WonderfulWhat a wonderful novel involving many generations. Ty and Mandy met at a very young age but both had to learn about life and the importance of family, friends, people, and real love not just lust. With a heartfelt plot and well developed characters this is a book that will grab and keep the reader's interest.

The way to a man's heart..There's definitely much to learn about what it takes to put a rodeo together. If that interests you, this is a book you will enjoy. I personally prefer leaving sexual occurrences more to the reader's imagination and less explicit information given.

I received a free copy from KindleScout! This is my first book by this author and I believe this is book 2 of a series. This book works as a stand-alone. I did not feel like I had missed anything in the story. This book, Mandy in particular, irked me. She was a strong female lead, but very insecure. Mandy was going through a hard time dealing with the passing of her grandfather and potential loss of the family business. I saw the wisdom of the grandfather trying to protect Mandy in a male dominated field. The present relationship with Ty wrestled with 10 years of assumptions, most were false, hurt, and an unhealthy dose of not communicating. When she latched onto an idea, it was repeated until the very end of the book. Ty's character was not as bad about this. The author constantly reminded us of Mandy's distrust for Ty. Everything Ty did was to ultimately strip Mandy of everything, in her mind anyway. Super irritating. I had to push myself to read this because Mandy irritated me so much, though there were many times her character would shine brightly. I understand the author's emphasis, but still, isn't there another way to show this without bashing me over the head with it constantly? Despite the above, I liked how the characters began to grow, many times without seeing the growth themselves. The setting seemed beautiful and made me want to see it. I liked the details explaining how Mandy ran the rodeo. The author either knows a lot about ranching and rodeos or did great research. I also liked ty he emphasis of family and support. The book was an easy read with a steady flow. I don't recall many errors, if any at all. There is adult language, but you will not feel as though you are being cussed at. There are adult situations that may make you blush. I still recommend you giving this a try, though it seems my review isn't stellar. It wasn't a bad book and it is wrapped up nicely. You may find you enjoy it.2.5-3 stars

The plot, I just didn't buy most of it. I mean, can you really write a will like that? Marry or you don't get anything? And risk everything to the chance that they will fall in love. I mean, they could have lost everything just because of a crazy old man playing matchmaker. The love-hate relationship between Mandy and Ty it's so crazy. One moment is I don't want anything to do with you the other I can't live without you. She gets from I don't want you to touch me to I want to have a baby with you. It's just so crazy.

Although not listed as such, this appears to be a stand-alone book in the Hearts of Wyoming series. This is a fast and easy read; however, I found the premise not quite believable. The protagonist and her former boyfriend from ten years earlier must work together in order to meet the requirements of her grandfather's will. They can also avoid certain penalties if they marry and share the same bedroom.

Due to the stipulations in her grandfather's will, Mandy is forced to marry Ty, a man who rejected her many years ago. Because Ty is given the power to sell her family's rodeo business, Mandy doesn't trust him, but there is an undeniable chemistry between them. The situation creates conflict as well as uncertainty. It's a great setup and Ms. Carrole packs it with emotion. A wonderful story!
