Dubbed Sir Drue, she had sworn to serve her king and seek revenge against her enemy, Connaught. She had vowed to slay the treacherous knight, yet one look into the depths of his fire-blue eyes and she knew she could never kill him.Though she had captured him fairly on the field of battle, it was Drue who was completely in his power, and she shuddered to think what the proud Connaught would do when he discovered that the "lad" who had defeated him was nothing more than a woman....

To Touch the Sun Reviews
To Touch the Sun is an older Harlequin Historical by Barbara Leigh. This is the unique tale is about a woman in medieval England who is raised as alongside her brother as a boy, and eventually becomes a knight. Not just any knight, but one of the most virtuous, valiant and admired knights in the kingdom. Druanna takes on the persona of Dru to such a great extent that even her brother almost forgets her true identity. Although she dominates in the masculine arts if war, Dru’s heart is that of a woman who loves men. Unfortunately for Druanna, she falls for her enemy, Connaught.Connaught is married when they meet and has no idea she is a female. He is confused and tormented by his attraction for this brave knight. Lucky for him, when Druanna is injured, Connaught tends to her wounds, and finds her boobies---itty-bitty as they may be--but a woman's boobs nonetheless. "So before we go at it, just what exactly is the penis situation?"There are a few twists and turns along the way. Connaught is a married man, after all, and then there is a shocking accusation made at Sir Dru, who is considered one of the most eligible and handsome of knights. And of course there are the major problems Connaught and Druanna face, as their relationship becomes known.(view spoiler)[The book is unique in that they have their HEA, but an unconventional one. They live their lives happily fighting alongside one another as two knights, and no one, except the hero and the heroine's brother, knows she is really a woman! This is one of my favorite romance novels. It's about a woman knight who lives disguised as a man. She is taken prisoner after a battle and held for ransom. I've always loved the girls disguised as boys thing so this one is a winner for me.
Loved it,but then again I've fallen deeply in love recently with the whole womanpretending to be a man troupe...for me I've found I really enjoy the whole ideaand lure of seems to be forbidden and taboo per say yet in reality it's not,it canbe kinda delicious to see/watch our tortured Hero think he's succumbing to a forbiddenlove, fighting self loathing for both himself and the object of his desire, only to very happilyfind out this love is not H to H as he fears but H to h as we cheer ;) Honestly my problemwith the book/story was not the concept soo much as my wish that a) They could have gottenthings resolved and into such a place that we'd all have had more time together,by the time Drue and Connaught really get together in a real and lasting was the story is basically ,well over..I would have liked to have seen more about how the learned to live their lives together with the secret of their loved they realized they had to keep...I mean them being together as two knights with only Drue's brother and Conn's old nursemaid (who didn't seem to know exactly what she knew on that score in the end) and possibly Drue's father of course knowing that they are married and are Husband and Wife i.e. a man and a woman and not two men like the outside world must think, while I like Connaught wanted and would have loved Drue to come out to the world as the woman she was, like Drue per say I think that ship sailed a long, long time ago... I mean even if you ignore the fact (like Conn did) all Drue had know was the life she lived now basically since about the ago of around 3 or soo and that being a Knight was all she'd ever aspired to or knew anything about, having grown up with out any woman really in her life and never even taught the most basic of womanly things like what "that time of the month is" (which i think Conn himself got rid of for her in a mock jousting contest between him and her when she was 14,which neither seem to remember)even if you forget ALL of that, there's still the fact that Drue (female or not) was a VERY WELL KNOW Knight, even acquainted the king of England soo there No way for Drue to stop being Sir Drue unless they moved of to some very remote place... I found it quite annoying that Conn knowing all this just seem to think time at his Castle with his Children and she's just magically gonna learn all she's NEVER known and transform into what? someone completely different? Yet he still loves and respects as deeply as he does at that moment?kinda crazy and yet my heart goes out to him,I get he just wants to be happy after all he's been thru and to finally be able to love out loud known that he knows it's a possibility, I get that.. Who wouldn't want that.. but Sadly thats never to be at least not at that moment...and b) I really disliked how it ended, which goes back to my previous point, them riding off into battle together hoping they live to see another was not an HEA for me and I'm just that kind of Romantic that I LOVE a good HEA ... or say and epilogue after the battle scene saying how they helped drive back the French and Spanish back and spent many year fighting together and raising his sons with love..especially sweet lil Kyle and then at one point they find a way to retire from that life and find a way to live out their remaining years together but out in the open as a man and a woman no longer having to hide their true deep love from others....That and this book having come in either KINDLE version or large print,I have some eye issues that made me have to scan the entire book in and read it in the photo section on my ipad mini it was a book worth reading, but boy was that a pain...
This is THE WORST book I ever read. Give me nightmares until today
