4 starsAfter Abel's Trilogy I have been looking forward to start reading Caleb's story and I have to admit that I somehow like him better than Abel. With his brother Nick in prison and his parents being dead, Caleb is on his own. Suffering from heavy feelings of guilt, Caleb is willing to do everything in order to bring his brother's case back to court. I am really curious to find out more about why Caleb is feeling so gulity and I immediately fell in love with some of the secondary characters - Nick and Dane for example really got to me. And of course Horatio and Max made a reappearance in this book and I can't wait to find out more about them too - they would be so hot together! Samuel on the other hand is not really my cup of tea - I don't especially like him and I am not sure if I ever will. I don't even know why, but I can't understand the way he feels and acts. WARNING!Just like in Abel's trilogy, we are once again getting a lot of unprotected, unlubricated sex - I really can't understand why the other is not being more considerate in regard of these topics, but I still liked this first story about Caleb and I will definitely keep reading.

3.5I like these stories, I didn't like this one like I did Abel-or it took me longer to get into Caleb anyway. There are things about this story that drove me nuts--(Marco! don't read it okay?! Just a friendly suggestion) the insta-love was like "Woah!" And what's with all the unprotected unlubricated sex with stranger stuff?I did have a moment of "please God no!" But then Dane came through for me but...(seriously Marco, DON'T)But there are things I love about these stories, I love that we get to see what is going on in the lives of not only the MCs but of several characters, I love those glimpses of vulnerability, moments of friendship and honest-to-god genuine carethey cane show for each other ( I am referring to the club brotherhood)There is hotness, though it gets repetitive, and some sweetness in there. I will read the next one, but I think Abel is still coming out on top of this one.

Wow. I actually did NOT see that coming. What an ending! So far I'm liking Caleb's story better than Abel. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I got a couple of the stories from this series for free (via Smashwords) which started me on the series. Those that know me, also know that I have a bit of an obsession with finishing a series once I have started, so I read these pretty much back-to-back. I'm not going to write about each story individually, rather just leave some overall notes.- the series is made up of a number of trilogies so there are 3 books to be read to bring each characters story to conclusion (you can buy them as separate stories or as the trilogy which I think is more cost effective)- there are recurring characters through out each book, including Max and Horatio who don't get their stories until right at the end, although there are teasers right the way through- there are very dark moments - rape, abuse, torture- there is lots and lots of sex between all the couples, not just the main ones featuring in the current story. All couples seem versatile and all call each other 'baby'.- condoms and lube seem entirely optional (mainly earlier in the series?) although there's an HIV theme- these guys have lots of emotions and like to think about their feelings. They are also all prone to tears and heartache for each otherIn summary, I think this series suits a reader looking for lots of drama, characters who agonise over emotions, are comfortable with abuse themes and like lots of sex in a book. I moved between 3 and 3.5 stars as I read through the series. In general I liked it, I did get invested in the stories.

I picked this up for free, not realizing at the time that there were 3 other books before it. After learning that, I was hesitant to read it without first picking up the others but decided to take the risk anyway. The risk paid off. I didn't need the other three books to follow along with this one. It was enjoyable all on its own. The only issue I have is that it leaves you wanting to know more...which means I now have to get the other two books for Caleb stat. LOL. It's a quick read, fast paced but not so much so that you feel like you're missing anything. The quickened pace here fits perfectly and can I just say, the loves scenes are hot. Damn. Window steaming, need a cold bath or shower kind of hot. Enjoyable read! Can't wait to read the others (and go back and start at the beginning when I'm done!)

Took me a little longer to get into. The insta love kinda threw me off a bit. By the end, I'm looking forward to the next book.I''m hoping for some more Max and Dane...not together.I also want more Nick. I really like Nick. Huh, I think I like the side characters better than the mane characters still, but it's looking promising that will change next book.

3.5..I love the concepts in all of the stories in this series. I would probably enjoy them more if the MC's didn't feel the need to sleep with everything that walks.

'When Worlds Collide' is the first book in Caleb's trilogy. If you aren't familiar with the 'Phoenix Club' series by C.J. Bishop, not only do you need to be, but each of the young men has a trilogy of their own, although they are still featured within other books. I fell in love with Abel's trilogy and fully anticipate the same thing with Caleb. I want to see more of Gabe and Cole, Max, Horatio, Abel and Devlin, plus whatever other characters the author sees fit to introduce me to. Each of these young men has suffered heartache and pain, but Max has made the Phoenix club their family, and there isn't anything these young men won't do for each other. For a guy who has never stripped before, Caleb's debut performance almost brings the roof down. Good thing too, since Abel is no longer working there, the club needs a new, fresh face, and it looks like they all got lucky when Caleb came through the doors. Samuel and Caleb meet at a public pool one evening, and it's love at first sight, at least for Samuel, although Caleb isn't much further behind. Caleb doesn't want to tell him he's a stripper, and Samuel is hesitant to tell Caleb that his family is wealthy, even though Samuel hasn't got much use for any of them. They begin seeing one another, and take it from me, the sex is off the charts, but Samuel wants more from Caleb. Unfortunately, a client at the club has got his eye on Caleb.Brock is a high-powered criminal defense attorney and he wants Caleb. Caleb needs an attorney to help him get his brother, Nick's, conviction overturned. It's why Caleb works so hard to get as much money as possible, to support himself, send money to Nick in prison, and try to save some to hire an attorney. Caleb blames himself for Nick being in prison, for the accident that caused a little girl's death, and he visits Nick every month. Plenty of things have happened to Nick since he started serving his sentence that he'll never tell Caleb. Nick knows the guilt would crush his little brother. Interestingly, neither brother has ever told the other they're gay.Dane is one of the young men at the club and he takes an interest in Caleb. Once Dane meets Samuel and sees Caleb's eyes light up for him, Dane knows he has no chance. But he can be his friend, someone who Caleb can talk to about all his problems. Caleb's latest visit to see Nick reveals his brother's bruised and battered face, which Nick shrugs off, but Caleb can't forget, forcing Caleb to make a deal with Brock. When Samuel and Caleb go out on their first official date, well, a surprising revelation comes to the fore and life isn't looking too happy for Caleb.I adored Caleb and Samuel. I like the story line. I'm worried already about Max and Horatio's trilogy, because those two are killing me. I know Dane is going to get his heart broken over Caleb, but all I can do is hold his hand and hope for the best. I'm really looking forward to the rest of Caleb's story and I'm enjoying this series, very much.

WOW !! So much emotion in this book that i don't know what to say.Caleb, as we know, is the newbie at the Phoenix Club who is replacing Abel. He's just as hot and sexy and , just like Abel was he really needs the money. One night after work he decides to visit the local pool where he meets Samuel. Samuel is so different from Caleb, he comes from money whereas Caleb doesn't, but to get the money he has to forfeit his own dreams of what he wants to do with his life. And then we've got Dane, who has fantasized about Caleb ever since he first saw him at the club. Caleb doesn't want to trust or have a relationship with anyone but Samuel won't take no for an answer. And then, when Dane takes him on his monthly visit to his brother and Caleb sees what has happened to him it causes a plan to form in Caleb's mind as well as other things. But will this plan work when a meal with Samuel gets interrupted ?? Absolutely loved this and am so glad i've got book 2 to start straight away. My heart is breaking though for Caleb and Samuel as to what the consequences could be............

2.5 Stars - The sex was unbelievable at times - just met a guy and you bareback in a public pool?? Um... where was the lifeguard? At least they mentioned the barebacking as being not such a good idea. But then the lack of lube... the funny thing is there is a line mentioning the need for good lube, and yet no one uses it. The relationship in the book is crazy - one is going on insta love and the other is "not right now, I'm not worthy". There are a lot of secrets that aren't fully explained and leave you wondering.I had not read any of the other books in the series, and while it might have shed some light on some issues, I don't think it was entirely necessary to do for this book. HOWEVER, this ended in a giant cliffhanger. The only reason it didn't get a flat 2 stars and I rounded up, was because I actually want to read further to find out what happens.

So, it's Caleb's story this time...The new "golden boy" at Phoenix Club.Well ??What can I said about Caleb's 1st book's not as good as Abel's 1st book.I felt kinda boring at the beginning. Annoyed by how fast Samuel can get in to Caleb's pants.I like insta-love-kinda-story, but this Samuel guy with his "horny-as-fuck-bunny" was way...too much ?Dunno....I just know that this story ended just as another so-so reading for me tho...And the ending ?Can I say that "I knew it" thing ?Cuz it's so clearly predictable....And Brock ?Just hopping he as good as he said he is....Let's heading to the next installment...Hope it's more better than this one.

Things that bother me in this story:Tons of sex - all of it unprotected. None is particularly memorable, it's almost PWPOveruse of the endearment "baby"Characters keep referring to each other as boys when they're all adults. I find this demeaningProbably my #1 pet peeve these days: misogynistic ways of describing relationships and/or feelings"So what does this mean? This guy is my soul mate? Seriously? Could I be any more of a girl?" "Like some kind of lovesick school girl, he had the notion to take out a notebook and write the guy's name all over," "What was this guy turning him into? XOXO. What was he--a prepubescent girl?"

After Abel found love and left the Phoenix club a beautiful young boy named Caleb was hired and and just like Abel he soon quickly became the new favorite... another similarity that Caleb had with Abel is he too had HUGE problems that causes him to "sell" himself to someone to help with solve those problems but unfortunately unlike Abel who "sold" himself to someone who turned out to be an angel who save his life... it seem Caleb "sold" himself to someone who turned out to be very very wrong. Can't wait to see how this one ends... off to read book two

Not too sure how I feel about this one. I mean the writing is good and the story is amazing. However Caleb annoys me. I also wasn't surprised that Samuel's step father was also the guy trying to fuck Caleb. Hopefully the story will get better but it will most likely fix itself at the end of the third portion of the book. I will continue reading Caleb's story though because like I sadi before the writing is good and then there are a couple of other love stories going on as well.

But can they have a relationship if the odds are against them.

Well all I can say is this ... CJ sure knows how to keep her readers coming back for more! I am so addicted to this series of her books and I am so excited to read the second part in this trilogy. I had already downloaded books two and three straight away so that there's no delay to read them. Such a tragic story, with hopefully a very happy ending for our men. Keep at it, CJ!
