The Gardening Book Reviews

This is a nifty and colorful way to introduce kids to the joys of gardening. Planting stuff looks positively fun when you use a variety of unusual containers - plastic jar lids, sand pails, Tonka trucks - and add small plastic toys as decoration. Kids will learn how to make their own "chia heads" using pantyhose and grass seed. There's also a bit about making your garden a totally hip place by painting pots and stones, and adding a homemade wind chime. Imaginative and creative fun for all ages!

This book is full of great ideas for introducing gardening to children. As a librarian who has gardened, I HIGHLY recommend.

Although this book is not as delightful or informative or imaginative as other children's gardening books we've read lately, it has definitely gotten the most use. A thin volume of simple planting experiments, crafts, and activities, it has gotten my 5-year-old excited by each activity we've tried. We made pot presents for teachers and grass-head people, sprouted seeds and had bean sprout races. All fun.

This book is a wonderful read,it has many crafty ideas that kids could do on raining days, or those days when they are bored. This book is perfect for children who wont to get outdoors and start getting dirty in the garden. throughout the book it explains the process of gardening with pots, it is a fun, enjoyable way of teaching kids and is a entertaining read.
