Wren has decided that she wants Ryder as her mate and she won’t take no for an answer. As the pack’s shaman, Ryder has to stay celibate until he comes into his full power so he has to resist Wren at every turn. Once Ryder and Wren realize that she can help him achieve his power, they open up to each other and their relationship grows.I am pretty sure this is the last book in a series. We are introduced to a lot of characters, six sentinels and their mates along with other werewolves from a nearby pack, but Chenery does it in a way that isn’t confusing. She doesn’t bog the reader down with detail of the sentinels but focuses on Wren and Ryder’s story. I enjoyed how the character interacted with each other. They all lived in one home and were close. They gave each other space when it was needed but they were also there if anyone needed support. I haven’t read the other books in the series but from what I read in this novella, they seemed to be interesting. I won’t give the ending away but it did seem a little anti climatic and ended very neat and tidy. I understand as a novella there wasn’t the page space to draw it out but it was just too perfect. I did enjoy Wren very much. She is a strong woman with mixed heritage (psychic and werewolf) that knows what she wants and is willing to put herself out there to get it. Ryder was great as well. He is honorable and noble, willing to put himself out there for the better of the pack. It was nice to see how Ryder, while he did possess some shaman powers, was initially the weaker of the couple. Since Wren could shift she was a stronger physical fighter and could protect Ryder. That isn’t something that you see often.

Reviewed by Crystal NBook provided by the publisherOriginally posted at Romancing the Book am sad to say that I have finally reached the end of this series. I enjoyed this book and everything was wrapped up nicely. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending than what I got in this story.Ryder know that he has to come into his full powers if he wants to be the shaman that his family has passed down. He knows to save the Werewolf Sentinels and defeat the dark wolves. He has feelings for Wren but knows he can’t have sex with her if he wants to come into his powers and save everyone like he was born to do. Wren can see into the future and knows that he is meant for her but he blocks everything she sends him. Imagine their surprise when Wren seems to have a connection with him that helps him in his dreams. If I could dream and do what these two do in Ryder’s dreams I would never want to wake up. The sex seems to be more intense in this one and a lot more hotter. I knew that Ryder would play a big part in this series but not to the extent that it played out. I wish there would be more. I know that this author will write more series and I can’t wait. I feel happy that I got to read all eight books in order. If you love books that have shape shifters and instant feelings about each other then this is the series for you. I recommend reading them in order.

Well, all the story lines were nicely tied up in this final short story. Ryder got his full powers with Wren’s help, then they both got their HEA.And the dark ones were defeated. After all the buildup though, this was achieved much too easily. But other than the first book and a few scenes that started near their original glacier, nothing in this series had anything to do with ice! They could just as easily come from and been sleeping anywhere in the world. So the titles are completely misleading. Fave Scenes: Wyatt’s diaper, the first step, the house shaking and healing the dark wolves.
