WBI 2: Witches Bureau of Investigation 2 (Witches Bureau of Investigation #2) by Richard Capwell and Noreen Capwell continues the story of the retired witches and the twins as the battle evil and solve mysteries. It is a kids book but it also helps kids learn that age is barrier to doing things- young or old. It is a fun and exciting mystery, fantasy where kids and the elderly work together to stop the end of mankind, again. A fun and exciting story that is delightful crafted and fun to read. The characters are unique and interesting such as the dragon shifter or the wolf shifter, or the witches and their special potions. The forgetful witch, the red eyed demon, and others are also unique and fun in their own way. Love these stories and I know my grand kids will love them too.

Another fun, delightful read! Many of the quirky characters from the first book were present again in this one, as well as some new ones like Dagmont and Lillian. The addition of the signs of the Zodiac made for an intriguing puzzle as the band of companions tried to stop a demon from completing a twelve-step ritual that would enable him to gain a solid form and become super powerful. I found myself deciphering the clues and racing to the various locations right along with them. This series is a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon and I hope there will be more books in the future.

Another Zodiac KillerAnother demon! This one is smart. It took care to have the WBI headquarters "disappered", meaning someone has to stay behind and try to fix that conundrum while the rest try to stop a demon whose full powers come to fruition when he has . . . well of course the brothers and the witches can't let THAT happen! Fun, fast read, probably meant for tweens. I'm a tween, so there. Tween middle/old age.

Quick thoughts: The formulaic nature of the enemy here keeps it a step below the first book, but it does build to a satisfying conclusion with a couple nice twists. Again an easy, amusing read with diverse characters. ONe of my favorite things about these books continues to be making both protagonists and antagonists competent without being perfect and fallible without being stupid. Call this 3.5 rounded up for a strong ending.

Another original story. The zodiac concept worked really well and gave the reader the feeling they were involved with the story. The whole way through I was deciphering clues to match the zodiac. As always, I hate that it had to end and I'll have the wait for the next one. I want to find out how Beauchamp is and see more of Lillian.

Really enjoying this series. Well written, fun characters and a an interesting storyline. The boys join forces with the Retired Witches to save the world from a demon who comes back once every 100 years to try and take over. Some interesting things happen during the course of their investigation but you'll need to read it to find out.

Another kindle freebie failure. For a start, this is a kids book - which I did not realise. The part that I read seemed as if some younger people would enjoy. But as I am not the target market, I am unable to recommend.

Again, another quirky little tale for Nate and Herman Howe and the retired witches of the WBI. Although the target audience is children, there was a nice little nod to any adults who may pick it up with the graveyard scene - a kind of "Spot the Celebrity Spook"!

it's a popcorn know the sort. Got an hour or two free, want to read something that requires no real thought or concentration. There's no real depth, no truly gripping story line, though it was a pleasant enough distraction for an uneventful afternoon

This book is more geared to children than adults, but was a fun read anyway. Would be good for young readers who want an element of mystery and to suspend reality for a while.
