Wildlife can be elusive, and both kids are disappointed when, at first, they don't encounter many animals in the park. The kids quickly learn, however, that there are animals all around, and these creatures leave behind scat and tracks. Before long, the kids are able to identify animal tracks and determine what a creature has eaten recently. Colorful illustrations of animals and their scat and tracks supplement this lively tale, and a quick-reference chart at the back will make field identification a breeze!...

My son got this for Christmas and loved it. I made him write a book report on it, and his only criticism is that the author takes too long to get to the puma. It's useful for us around here in southern CA because we also have coyotes and mountain lions, and my son is always worried about a mountain lion attack although we don't go in the backcountry.

I love bringing these home from my trips to share with my niece all about where I went and the animals that live there. She's got quite the collection of them!

great way to look at finding animals in a National Park...shows how you can learn about the animals & track them without necessarily seeing them. will be exploring more of these books.

Great book my grandma bought for me at the Grand Canyon. I learned that evidence of animals can be really smelly.
