The Brethren are back!A big thank you to Deena, the author, for providing the review copy!Relic's story is about Raphael, the Brethren Savior that can barely heal a headache after the big battle in Trinity, and Serena Sikes, the young business owner that is lonely. After some major events happen in the story, both characters are broken to a certain extent. I really liked how they helped build each other up again. The story has heart stopping action, swoon worthy romance, sizzling passion, and vivid imagery and descriptions! Oooh! Let's not forget a creepy and persistent villain! After I'd finished the book, I felt like I had been in Arizona seeing all the wonderful things in the book. Plus, all of our favorite characters from Trinity make a few appearances. (Michael, Emma, Hannah, and some of the other Brethren)Relic is a wonderful continuation of a fantastic series. The plot is unique and I loved it! I cannot wait to see what Deena has up her sleeve with the next installment, Elixir. If you liked Trinity, or any of Deena's other work, I encourage you to pick all of her stories up. Deena is a wonderful story teller that paints a picture with her words and writes the most lovely romance!

As a Savior member of the Brethren, Raphael’s sole purpose was to heal and after the last great battle between Good and Evil, Raphael’s powers were minimal at best. Feeling less than worthless, he is on a quest to find Serena Sikes and inform her of the demise of her youngest brother. Raphael is about to have a whole new set of problems thrust onto his shoulders in addition to his waning powers. Not only is Serena a dead ringer for Raphael’s late wife (whose memory was wiped from his mind) but she is also being chased by hired killers whose boss has mistaken her for the Goddess Sirona. Saving Serena and perhaps himself will take everything Raphael has and a little help from the Brethren.Well Deena certainly had her "big girl panties" on while writing Relic. As much as I loved Trinity, I felt this book much more viscerally. It had a grittier tone, which I just ate up. While still retaining Deena's optimism, the main characters in Relic were just a tad meaner and darker. Especially Serena (yay!!), my girl could flatten some balls and not break a sweat. Raphael was unknowingly suffering the death of his first wife and had become an emotionless being who existed in a very grey world. When Serena, who has brought light back into his life is threatened, he is ruthless in his protection of her. Nothing is sexier than a pissed off, protective angel. This book is just a little deeper I felt because it dealt with several issues and not just one set of villains. I absolutely loved the complexity of Serena's character and how she deals with her quickly changing life. Raphael isn't aware of how truly damaged he is, nor are any of his fellow Brethren. I thought this gave a really unique twist to the story that played out beautifully. I absolutely devoured this book in record time. This romance had a very sensual feel and was at times bordering on animalistic (grrrrrr) which added just the perfect amount of zing to an already lovely story. The balance of elements in this book is truly a work of art. Heartbreak, hope, insidious villains and self discovery all play off each other in a wonderfully entertaining story that keeps the readers attention from start to finish. I am already anticipating the next book and have my fingers crossed on who will be the star of this one. This is definitely a "must read" series from a truly gifted author. Big kudos for yet another job well done.

I enjoyed Relic more than I enjoyed Trinity. The main characters in this install were lesser known characters from Trinity. Raphael is our swoon-worthy angel this time. He is a Savior, a healer. But when tragedy strikes, he lost his ability to heal and is on a guilt trip to get it back. Remember Jared, Agremons' lacky? Well he gave his sister an ancient Relic that oddly looks alot like her. Serena, Jared's sister, begins to dream of an amazing lover and of a life shes lived before. But that's not all that happens to her. She finds out that the Relic was stolen property and supposedly has healing powers and the man who Jared stole it from wants it back. But word got back to him that the person who has it looks just like the Goddess herself. Serena finds herself wanted by a crazed man and wanted dead by another. Raphael winds up tangled in a web of attempted murders and resurrection, all thanks to a woman he’s only seen in a photograph and by chance on an Arizona desert hiking trail. Yep you guessed it, Serena. Raphael and Serena are drawn together, for locked deep within the relic’s heart had lived the soul of his long lost wife. Now, it resides inside Serena. Evil lurks around every corner as Raphael tries to keep both Serena and his dead wife’s soul alive and lustful temptation at bay.Relic was way more enjoyable to me. It was well written and full of bad guys who, at times, were dense. They provided the much needed comic relief and it was timed beautifully. The relationship between Serena and Raphael to me, was deeper than that of Emma and Michael (who makes a guest appearance in this one) =)The scenes were very well detailed and the passion between Serena and Raphael was hot! Book 3 of the Brethen Series is definitely next up on my reading list! Great job on Relic Ms. Remiel!!!

Serena Sikes’s birthday present from her brother turns out to be more than a simple old statue. The statue, which uncannily looks a lot like her, turns out to be stolen from a person who thinks she is someone else. Someone who has plans for her. Events lead to her being found by Raphael, a Brethren Savior. Things have been different ever since she touched the statue. Is Raphael showing up just when she needs help just a coincidence?Raphael is a Brethren Savior, an angel who has lost his ability to heal. He assumes the task of telling Serena what has happened to her brother, but does not count on finding her almost dead in the desert. Raphael finds himself protecting her instead of just giving her the news. After getting the statue, she finds herself getting attention she does not want. The statue is a relic thought to have healing powers, and it contains Raphael’s late wife’s soul, which now is in Serena. Is he there to protect her because of his dead wife who he did not save? Or is the feeling of love between them something of their own? This story has more than just one thing going on. You have the romance between Serena and Raphael, who question if they deserve the love growing between them, and the mystery of who is after her and why. The action parts are exciting and not over exaggerated which compliments the romance while not taking over. The balance between the two make this story fun to read. All of the different parts of the plot come together nicely at the end. I hope the next book in the series has an intriguing plot and characters in it, as well as being enjoyable like this one was.Official Review @ Coffee Time Romance & More

I was lucky enough to recieve a review copy from the author, I was so excited to get started. Deena Remiel is such an amazing writer, I love all her work. This story seriously doesn't disappoint. There's a saying, "Lightning never strikes the same place twice." but with Deena's Brethren series, not only has it struck once, twice but THREE times (can't forget about Brethren Beginnings). The electric current will leave you simply breathless! I can still feel the zing!RELIC we meet some new and very exciting (sexy) characters, and of course our favourite characters are back and always bringing a smile and giggle with them. Raphael and Serena's story is full of danger, action, romance, passion... (you get the idea) *winks* Raphael is the perfect savior, he's sweet, loyal and has such a protective streak you never want to cross him especially when it comes to family.Serena is such a lovely girl, she's been through so much hardship in her life. Her mother dying at a young age and her father being in a home with no acknowledgment to her presence. Also a brother who has a very naughty streak which keeps getting him into trouble. But through all that she still comes out on the other side with her head held high, I truly admire her strong personality. All the characters have their unique and fun personalities, and each one brings life to this story. This series is a must read, if you love action packed books with a touch of Romance, I recommend you get your hands on the Brethren series. Starting with book 1 Trinity. They're sure to bring a spark of Angel dust to your dreams. (For mature audiences only! 15+)

This is Book 2 in Deena Remiel's "Brethren Series". I thought book 1 was absolutely fabulous and Books 2 "RELIC" does not disappoint it was equally wonderful. Raphael is an Angel "Savior" but has lost his great power to heal. He has no clue why but feels he is being punished for something that happened in his past. Serena who owns her own guided tours business receives a gift from her brother that changes her life into a nightmare and only "The Brethren Savior" can save her. Deena weaved a wonderful web and managed to untangle it beautifully. Serena is a complicated mix of different personalities and so well described that you are able to discern the personalities from each other, no small feat in writing. Raphael is the perfect majestic brooding hero, having lost and loved. He is scared to love again. The story was well crafted, keeping you wondering what could possibly happen next. I adore Deena's sense of humour, her characters really come alive on the page with snappy comebacks. You'll catch yourself giggling and shaking your head.I recommend you give this book a read and it's a great stand-alone book, but to really get everything out of the story you must read it as a series. Your sure to dream of Angels after reading it!5 STARS!

RELIC is my first encounter with Ms. Remiel's work, and now that we've been properly introduced I have to say I'm impressed with her ability to tell a story. This one has it all: heart pounding action, intrigue, suspense, and a deeply satisfying tear jerker of an ending.I loved the plot layers throughout. So many romances have one problem to solve, and once the characters take care of that issue the book is over. By contrast, RELIC features a lot of great threads ranging from the relic itself to a myriad of personal relationships to the part played by the villain, the latter of which works perfectly as a catalyst throughout the various facets of the plot. And through it all is the romance--first budding, then undeniable--between Serena and Raphael. You might think with all of those elements the story would become muddled, but every element is clear, cleverly entwined, and neatly resolved. The suspense is exciting and the romance is, er, exciting (*grin*) but tastefully written. Even the villain garnered a wee bit of sympathy for his plight--impressive work by the author considering his actions. This is a great story, and one I thoroughly enjoyed. Five stars!

A Brethren Angel, born to heal, has inexplicably lost his power to do so and is at a loss as to why. Little does he know that his next assignment will test him in more ways than one and bring him face to face with his past.Serena has received a gift from her troubled, wandering brother who, shortly after leaving the gift with her, disappears. Serena soon discovers that the gift he left her was probably the cause of his disappearance and could also cause her to lose her life.Deena Remiel has another hit in this series with Relic. Raphael and Serena are fated to heal each other but must go through much before it can happen and they can both find peace in their pasts and their futures. The Brethren Series is one of my favorites and it seems to grow stronger with each new book. Great storylines, strong characters, who can resist these gorgeous, tortured angels? Thanks for another great story Deena!

Deena Remiel is an amazing author! This is another well written story with everything spread out so there's never a dull moment from cover to cover. The Relic is a wonderful book about letting go of the past, forgiveness, and love. The Brethren take my breath away with their witty, down-to-earth, and totally devoted to goodness ways. It also helps that they are extremely good looking and very well built ;) Can't wait for more of their stories!!!

I bought all three books at once. I read Trinity and it was not one of my best reads. The protagonist was weak and I personally don't want to read about weak women. But I had the second book so I started reading. This story was leaps and bounds better. The female protagonist was strong and the story was powerful. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is because some of the writing is forced and cliche.

Loved the story. Serena has the soul of Sirona trapped in her body and alone comes Raphael to rescue her when she is left for dead. Raphael also happens to be Sirona's long ago husband. As Raphael tries to keep Serena safe from people who are trying to kill her a love story starts, but who does Raphael love Sirona or Serena? I couldn't put this book down.
