Neela Pathar / نیلا پتھر Reviews
Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi never fails to touch the heart. He discusses very sensitive subjects with the cruel wisdom. Yes, I would say cruel because his concluding sentence of the story pierces through the heart, breaks it, makes it bleed and the wound is not healed. Neela Pathar discusses some bitter realities of our society. It is the collection of the stories of the common people whose everyday problems are too many to list. Stories state some hard facts and presents the world as a barbaric place to survive. Writer's point of views are hard to deny. However, with the lot of pessimism these stories do not make me feel good. They somehow annoy me. I agree with what J.R.R. Tolkein said "There is some good in this world, and it is worth fighting for." It irritates me that no story presents the idea that world can be a better place, may be tomorrow if not today. But every person grows with his own thoughts and has rationale to believe what he does. I am sure a person like Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi would have his reasons.
